FilmLoop Looplets and eBay Searches

Gavel1

A couple of cool developments from FilmLoop:

1. There's a new Macintosh version. This is the version that enables you to create looplets for your blogs and websites. You can get it by clicking here:

Download FilmLoop.dmg

To create a looplet like the one you see below, do this:

- Put the cursor on a picture in your loop, a yellow (or blue) frame will appear with the word "Actions" and a down arrow.

- Click on the arrow and a menu will appear.

- Select “Web/Blog/IM link...”

- Enter values like these (yours may vary according to your preferences):
Site/Host Destination: “Generic Site- HTML and JavaScript compatible” (or your blog host's name)
Loop link style: “Flash Looplet”
Looplet Height: 120
Looplet Width: 480
Looplet Speed: 2

- Copy the code into your blog or web site.

2. You can now create "D2D" (direct to desktop) searches from eBay. Go here:

http://network.filmloop.com/ebay

Enter a search criteria like "hockey jerseys" with a minimum price of $50. Then click on "Search." After a short time, you'll see the offerings that meet these criteria.

Then you can create a loop for your desktop by clicking on the "Open" button or the "Open in FilmLoop" text. As more items become available, they are automatically posted to your loop. As items sell, they automatically go out of the loop. If you want to bid on an item in a loop, click on it.

I created the hockey jersey looplet that you see above from an eBay "D2D" search. This "D2D" search capability enables you to create customize, ad-hoc eBay searches that are pushed to your desktop. If you've been lusting for that Team Canada jersey, but you don't want to keep going back to the eBay site, now you have a way to keep on top of hockey jersey auctions. :-)

If you do create a looplet, please send me an email (kawasaki@garage.com) with its location so that I can add it to my siderail.

i enjoyed the site (seriuosly) and i understand that perhaps at this moment self promotion is bad and may seem superficial, but nevertheless i cannot resist the temptation of inviting you over to my blog to take a look at one thingie and to say what you think. thanks in advance :-)

That Loopl thing is really funny.

Check out this new portal ( http://loopl.com ) that displays existing loops in the ideal way for loop-seekers.

Also see the how loopl can become a music portal by allowing the filmloop application to run with music. On the search bar on the top right, type for instance, Williams, and open the Robbie Williams loop. Click on the photos. This make iTunes look passé...

Hey Guy, thanks for adding me. I think one of the subjects you didn't covered yet is how do you get everything organized. Being a fan of GTD (well, maybe not a fan, a follower) I would love to read your insights, due you travel a lot.

I will wait here next to the door until you write one ;)

That is a great way to monetize FilmLoop! Why not take the next step and incorporate the hover feature of Cooliris of Browster for the latest bid information?

That looks really annoying. :)
