Venture Capital Panel MP3
This is an MP3 recording from the venture capital panel at a Garage
event called The Art of the Start. In this panel, five prominent
venture capitalists from Silicon Valley firms discuss entrepreneurship,
fund raising, and market sectors. The panel occurred in 2005 (that is, after the dotcom implosion), so the information is still highly
relevant to startups raising capital.
Moderator: Mohanjit Jolly, Garage Technology Ventures
Panelists:

I would like to hear a recording of the same panel in January 2000, just before the dotcom implosion.

Hi Guy, can you please post a transcript of this session?

Is garage planning to host an event this year? I've been wanting to visit Stanford and relatives up north this summer.

Hmm... Looks like a link to an MP3 file, which is a simple drag to iTunes after downloading if you want it there.
Vinny, to answer your question I listen to some of Guy's recommended MP3s, but the bar is very high. Links to Guy's own videos and MP3s are all viewed/listened.

Guy, thanks very much for sharing this. This type of information and exposure to the VC world is invaluable to startups.
PS I can't believe anyone would complain about the format of this file, and I hope it didn't keep anyone from listening to it. I like my iPod too, but as a startup founder I would listen to this MP3 if it were stamped on a record and playing on a turntable.

What would make this very helpful to me is a downloadable-to-iTunes link as I hate sitting trapped in front of my computer. I love to listen to these informative discussions on my iPod.
Any chance of making that possible?
Thanks.

Just to be a crank, but does *anyone* listen to mp3s on blogs?
I came here to read Guy at my pace, not listen to someone talk at their own pace.
No, I don't *get* podcasting either.

I liked the panel discussion, was quite informative.
I wish they got more in-depth relating to actual deals they both succeeded in and failed... from start to "finish". Even if they focused on only one project they all worked on together, there was too much knowledge left on the table.

Very good listen. The VC world has been a little quite post Y2K so its interesting to hear their point of view. Oddly enough I always find it funny that in the end, a good idea with revenue is not only a good investment, but its a good business.
