Jajah Announces Free Calls

jajah_logo.gif

Jajah announced free long-distance calls yesterday. This offer is for landline and cell phone calls from and to the countries listed below. Just a reminder: Jajah is the Internet phone service that enables you to use any phone to call any phone without installing any software or being connected to the computer once the call is initiated.

This offer applies to:

Landline and mobile calls to and within the US, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan
Landline, but not mobile calls, to and within Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea South, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK, Venezuela

More rate information is available here.

For free calling, both parties must be registered Jajah users, and the calls must be between the registered numbers. The rest of the fair-use policy is:

The Jajah “fair use” policy simply asks all our users to “play fair” and behave in a manner that best serves the greater calling community. We ask that our users limit their free hours to about one hour a day, five hours a week and about a 1,000 minutes a month. If they use it much more than that, then we ask that they also use some paid Jajah services such as text messaging or scheduled calling. If we determine that over time, someone’s behavior does not favor the overall community of users, we simply ask him to pay for the exceeded amount.”

Hey guys!...wanna learn how to make totally FREE phone calls and sms worldwide (including INDIA) then visit this site http://callsforfree.blogspot.com/

All the ppl in other countries can call USA, Canada for free. I mean we can not call india for free but you can call us for free if you have the internet. Go to www.freeinternetcalls.com

hi
iam in china n i want to make free calls to india.i came to know about jajah through my friend but i found that india is not in the free calls list of the jajah users.in future do we get any chance to make free calls between jajah users in inida and other countries.

HI ,

I enjoyed using jajah free for calling India in december 2006 , but am not able to use it now for free. Please let me know how to use it now ?

Ho hum. At 7.8 cents USD (Hawaii in-state long distance) / 5 cents USD (Hawaii to Zone 1), Jajah rates are higher than some landline long distance providers. Although the State of Hawaii is a state of the USA, Jajah decided that it did not need to include Hawaii in the rates for USA.

Also, my Jajah calls to Israel (where the company appears to be based) is of such bad quality, I have abandoned trying to call there through Jajah.

hey..u all guys ...i think its a free to all the europian country. i have registered my phone in jajah and my friend also in india. but we got a few free minutes then it doesnt allow...always ask for payment...

I have been a member of Jajah for several months. It is as good as they say. I make frequent free calls between Spain and New Zealand, use it for SMS to international mobiles for 10% of Telefónica de España rates, and phone non-members for 2 euro cents a minute. The big plus is that you download no software and each member can register two landline numbers (home and office, for example) and one mobile. This year, all calls are free worldwide on Christmas Day. Thank you Jajah

hi. so if I am registered with jahjah (Im in the US) and my friend in India is also registered with jahjah, then we can call each other and talk for free? Or do we ALSO have to buy some credits? Thanks John

Guys, Jajah's technology of connecting two phones instead of installing some kind of a software is great, but, their so-called "free" or "cheap calls" are deceiving. This low rates seem to apply to European countries and the US. Jajah is expensive to use in other countries such as in my country South Africa.

you guys are idoits - don't you get it? incoming calls on my mobile are free - and are free for my friend in germany. we both register and can call each other for free. free. get it? skype doesn't allow for this without pc. jajah is awesome - as is this blog.

My name is venkat, can i talk to my land phone or any mobile phone (i.e. India, Chattisgarh) from my office PC free.

hey they they say its free between registered users _ but iam unable to use that choice even when my friend and me were registered users.i think u will become active only when u buy some phone credits from them.

You can accomplish this with asterisk... Even get free calling with your cell phone. I wrote an article about how to do it.. Check it.

Alright

Late!

i just want call free to india i am user of jajah but i am in UAE how can i call other persons for free if they r also jajah users then i can speek free? if they r in india then how

I have used Jajah - thanks to you Guy, some Singaporeans are happily calling their family and friends overseas using Jajah! I have called my friend in UK a couple of times, it was of a clear sound quality. Just make sure before making the call, that it says, "This call is free".

I don't really see it as advertising, my friends were happy I was able to share such news with them.

I have used jajah.

Registration is simply entering your phone number into their database via a form on a web page.

Once you and your call recipient have registered, you use the jajah website (or bookmarklet) to call the recipient by selecting their number from a pulldown and clicking call.

Then the phone whose number you have registered will ring. When you answer it, the call recipient's phone rings.

The difference between jajah and skype is that with skype you talk/hear via your computer. jajah connects two regular POTS telephones- landline or mobile. Once the call is placed, the computer is no longer involved.

Also, you do not have to pay anything to start. When you first register you are given $3 credit free.

When companies fight, consumers benefit.

Free Calls

This service actually smacks of people who perceive themselves to be market leaders offering a lower-added-value version of what the competition are offering in order to not get totally routed.

There are better offers out there who do what Jajah would like you to believe they are doing, but aren't if you read the fine print.

You can use JAJAH Mini http://www.jajah.com/mini/ with your Treo. Works excellent at my cell phone.
