Pictures From the Retirement Ceremony of Mark Messier's Jersey
Mark Messier’s jersey was retired last night during this ceremony in Edmonton.
While we’re on the subject of hockey, a friend’s son is blogging about attending all the San Jose Sharks regular-season games (home and away). Apparently, this is part of his “education” because he’s studying sports journalism. Now I’ve heard everything...
In what other blog in the world will you find Mark Messier next to George Orwell? “All bloggers are equal; but some bloggers are more equal than others.”

Messier is also my hero! Forever and ever!

Hey, I went to every NHL Florida Panthers game for the first 10 years. How geeky is that? Well, okay, I missed two games in the fifth year for knee surgery, but still. In fact I attend almost every game now but have given up on the geek-i-tude of "if I don't go, the team will do poorly"
If you care to see the extent of my geek-i-tude, I run http://www.panthershockey.net -- and the story is at http://www.darsys.com/hstory.html

The coolest thing about the ceremony was that fact he played his minor league and grew up in the town he played in (Edmonton). There were lots of comments about the endless list of voluteers that helped him through the the times when he was growing up, playing hockey.
It was kind of a weird day though, we celebrated one of the top Oilers who ever played and then traded another Oiler away. (Smith)

Messier is a shining example of Hockey Amor, or love of the game. I think the love of hockey is one of the most fascinating topics, and I blog daily about it.

Mark's son plays for the Texas Tornados here in Dallas. He's a solid player, but not quite on par with dad (a tall order for sure). I'm ready to see Mark back in the game, either behind the bench or in a front office somewhere. Frankly, I'd rather see him in the Commish's office instead. The sport needs a fearless leader who can make things happen, but that's a rant for a different day.

Hi Guy thanks for the post on the "Moose". Mark Messier next to George Orwell... Well Mark is a tremendous leader at least in the sporting world.

Nice article on AOL (about common business plan lies). I assist companies to raise capital and these business plan flaws are so common. Particularly common and meaningless is the assessment of market size. I like to see projections on revenues, but only if backed by a very detailed, realistic and creative marketing plan.
The lie on management ready to join is a killer. Management is key to assassing a business plan; however, faking it by the entrpreneur doesn't help.

Thanks Guy. I was an Edmonton fan since season 1 of Gretzky and Messier and appreciate seeing your Filmloop of the ceremony.
